About

I am first and foremost a grateful believer in the Lord Jesus Christ.  I am also a husband to my wife and best friend, Lenora.  We have four awesome kids who absolutely make life worth living.  After all of the above, when there is time, I am an IT guy.  I have the privilege to go to work everyday doing some I really enjoy.  I once heard someone describe what we do as getting paid to solve puzzles.  I would have to agree – that’s what it feels like most of the time ( at least the technical aspects).  Client management, project management and team leadership just come with the territory and help to keep me, uh… well rounded ;-)

I have been working with the Oracle database since 1998, having had my first exposure to it as a DBA/System Admin for an ERP implementation at my college-time employer.  This opportunity kick-started my career and I have been doing database architecture and development ever since.  My career has afforded me the experience of working in a number of industries and with many technologies.  Data warehouse architecture is my primary interest and specialty, although my most recent project has been a custom Rich Internet Application (RIA) for one of our large clients.  Our core technology stack is Oracle, Java, and Adobe Flex.

I have recently begun exploring the world of Flex and Ruby on Rails as part of a side project, and this duo appears to be a great one for knocking out robust, enterprise-class apps in a relatively short timeframe.  More to come on that note, hopefully.
